Teaching is fun.

I've been teaching at DCTV - thats Downtown Community Television. Its really fun to act like I know what I am talking about and have people believe me! Haha!

Its really exciting to be around people who want to learn something. And then its very awesome that I help satisfy their curiosity while making bad jokes.

No really, it is exciting to help people discover filmmaking. It reminds me how much I like it. And how hard it is.

At DCTV I teach Production 101 and Final Cut Pro 101.

This weekend I am a guest speaker for "Girls Write Now." This is a non profit organization for high school girls who are interested in writing. They are paired up with mentors that they work with on a weekly basis and have special workshops once a month. Saturday is the screenwriting workshop, and I will be blabbing
about my experience in front of 18 girls and their mentors. Amy Lumet (Sydney's daughter) will also be speaking.

Viral Madness

We were so excited to hear that youtube wanted to feature "Memory Game" for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. To add to it, dailymotion.com wanted to feature it too.

The responses were, lets say...diverse. "Memory Game" wasnt made for a broad audience. It brought out the best and worst in people. Last I checked, it's been viewed 310,000 times, featured in 35 countries and had a 1000+ comments. Not bad for an art film!

Our Youtube account was hacked, an honor shared by Tay Zonday of "Chocolate Rain" fame. The youtube squad team had trouble stopping this guy (yes I am assuming the person is not a woman) who changed the title, description and tags on our video. 3 of our 5 days of front page madness were tarnished by this dude, and then youtube had to take our account down to try to fix the problem, so our momentum was zapped.

The dailymotion experience was pretty smooth. No racists or hackers. They also chose to feature another Wild Horse Society video about Hugs for Valentines Day. Sweet, huh?!

Some of the comments on youtube are pretty unbelievable, and are worth checking out if you feel like hating on something:
